I chose this book because I like exciting and funny stories; this book is full of that. I didn't get sucked into right away, I had to read a little to start really enjoying it.
I chose this book because I have heard it is a really good book and it is so far even though I am only 20 pages into the book. On the blurb, Twerp sounded like a good book. My friend told my I would like it.
The main character of Twerp (Jullian) is facing a stressful situation where he has to chose a girl or his friend. I think that whoever he picks one of them will be mad at him.
I think that maybe he will find a way to choose both of them, or that he will choose his friend. I don't think he will choose the girl and totally abandon his best friend.
I am on page 120, and so far it's really good, but I am just aching to know more about what happened with Danley (or Stanley, if that's what you choose to call him). I think Julian is just really misunderstood and that he could actually do some great stuff with his speed and writing talents.
I wonder why Julian is so reluctant to tell Mr. Selkirk about the thing with Danley Dimmel? I thought it was a bit scary but also really funny when Howie Wartnose fell off the fence because of the comments they made, but also because it was just so comical the way he fell.
The more I read this book the better it gets. I'm at page 200 and there is so much drama, in fact I think that there is more than there was in 5th grade. Jullian is having a "bad luck streak", I feel bad for him cause hes trying to do the right thing but he is losing his best friend due to it.
The book Twerp takes place in the mid 60's because on every chapter it says the date of when Julian writes it but it seams so modern. I think Edgoro is hiding some thing. Do you? Edgoro acts like he is hiding some thing don't you think so to?
I think that Eduardo is about to come into play again because I haven't heard about him for awhile. Jullian, I think is still mad at him for what he did. Although I think Eduardo did do the right thing and Jullian is going to say sorry and thank you for what he did.
I am finding this book more and more interesting. Some problems are being solved, while others just keep on generating. Julian is very disappointed in himself for running a fragment of a second slower than he'd originally wanted to, even after regaining his position as the fastest kid in P.S. 23. He remains loyal to his friends, but new issues generate around that, as well.
I finished Twerp yesterday. If you like a book with a complicated plot and characters that seem as if they could exist in real life, Twerp could be a good choice for you. The characters seem real because they are not intentionally being jerks, but they are, even though they think they're doing the right thing. Have you ever had that happen in your life? In the moment it feels like whatever you're doing will benefit people, but it turns out it does the opposite. This book was very well written and I couldn't put it down.
If you like books with exciting surprises I definitely recommend this book to you. This book is very exciting. I don't usually like books, but with this one I could barley set it down. This book seems pretty easy to follow. I hope to finish this book this week.

How do you feel about the “the incident”? Are Julian and his friends all equally guilty? Do you think the punishment was appropriate for the crime? If not, how do you think they should have been punished?
I feel like Julian should have told his friends to stop throwing the eggs when he realized what was happening to Danley, but I understand that he was frozen with fear. I don't understand, however, why he still threw that last egg straight at Danley's face, or even threw it at all. I don't think they should have been suspended from school, if it didn't happen at school, or even with someone from their school.

Julian feels like he has to be the fastest kid in school but he doesn't know why. He asks himself "Why do I have to be the fastest kid in school?" I think Julian wants to be the fastest kid in school because he is afraid of losing the 40 yard dash to Eduardo in front of the whole school.
So far the book looks like it is about a boy who gets into trouble or being a twerp. In the beginning he has to write about something that he had done to get himself as well others suspended.
Him and his friend went to a lot with their own made up name and they were shocked when they were there and 100s of pidgins flew down. They were shocked because there is nothing there for them and that was when his friend said to throw a rock. They argued for a while then finnaly he did it. They watched all of the birds fly up but the rock still hit one of the birds.
Right now I am reading sure signs of crazy , But I am also reading twerp. I would say these characters are very similar. I love Twerp because it reminds me of my dad. How he kills a bird that kinda stuff. This kid is a lot of trouble have fun reading this book.
I am now at the part where one of his friends gets his eyebrows burnt off. Its really kind of funny because what they were doing was a one way ticket to disaster at the end and sure enough it was a disaster. I am loving this book because it is funny and if I really think about it a can almost see wha'ts going on as if I was there.
I am at the part where he has made a mistake that could lead to a lot. First eyebrows. loves letters and dead pigeons. Now what his teachers make him do. What is going to happen?
I'm am at the part where he is going to race a fifth grader but he wants to see who it is and then they start to play tag and junior high schoolers start bullying his friends and Julian is amazed at what he dose next.
I found it surprising how much Julien cares for that pigeon. They are very annoying. On the other hand however, I do realize that it is a living thing and I respect that. Why do you think Julian cared so much about the pigeon? I think it was because it was him who threw the rock.
I like the authors writing style. The way he tells all the other things he did before he gets to what he got expelled for. I also like how part of it he talks like he's writing to someone and the other part he talks like it's happening in the present. It's kind of like a story inside of another story.
It really shocked me when I found out that Jillian and Eduardo are almost brother and sister. In a year they will adopt Eduardo and it really caught Julian off guard.
I am shocked that some of the things that Julien had done couldn't have been any better than the thing that he got in a lot of trouble for. I guess I'm just going to have to keep reading to find out.

I also have the feeling that Jillian likes Julian, and that is why she kept asking if he had wrote it, as if she wanted him to say yes. What do you think?

They start to talk then to end the conversation, Eduardo puts his finger on Julian for a few seconds, says "do you know what that mean?" Runs around 20 feet away from Julian and says " it means your it."
I'm at the part where Julian comes into the c lass and sees Jillian at his desk. They have a conversation and Jillian is saying how she can see what it looks like in his world now, and Beverly looks beautiful. Then she goes on about how she thought the love letter was from him to her. She likes him so that is why she thought the love letter is from him. She is acting this way because he was partners with Beverly during a field trip.
So I'm at the part where Julian adsidently makes Jillian cry. So Jillian makes a rumor saying that Julian and Beverly kiss which makes it so he looses one friend and Lonnie, the kid he writes the love letter for, sees Jillian kiss Julian and gets the wrong idea. and so now Julian lost two good friends.
I find it interesting how much trouble Julian gets in, and how it still doesn't come close to this "big thing" that he got suspended for. It's also not just Julian, but a lot of kids get in trouble for things or do bad things but don't get caught.

I think it's odd that Julian hasn't talked much about himself but more about what he's done to get himself in trouble. Does anyone else feel like that is happening?
Before Julian and Jillian go to the movies his sister asks him why his hair is combed and he just walks past her and into his room. Then after about a minute he wonders why she hadn't knocked on his door so he goes into her room and she gives him a few tips about the date. When he gets there Jillian says that she wants to go to adventures inn which is a theme park and they hold hands which shocks me.
This book is so far very diffrent from any other books that I have read before but it is defantley at tops. The oly 2 charecters that I no are Jillian and Amelia. They are brother and sister.

If I were Julian right now I would be so nervosa. Right now his friend just asked him to write a love letter and give it to the girl as well.
