  2. This is a great book! My favorite character is Ruby, she is open minded and willing to take advantage of opportunities. Ruby is always herself and avoids peer pressure.

  5. Remember when i was talking about how Ruby was so open minded and she was wiling to avoids peer pressure. Well there was a good part of her being open minded it was when she was walking and she got an opportunity to right an essay and she said yes and that's what she meant by open minded.

    1. I agree Ruby is her own person: open minded & avoids peer pressure. Do you think this impacts her friendships?

  7. Ruby is very sad about losing her grandmother, but she finds ways to help herself, such as forming a friendship with Nero. How does her friendship with Nero help her heal and deal with her grief?

    1. Well he sort of likes Ruby as a crush. But he is to afraid to tell. Yes, though he does help her with things that get her down so like you asked yes he does.

    2. Maybe Nero thinks his friendship with Ruby is more important than his crush on her. I think he knows that being a good friend to her is what she really needs to help her feel better.
It seems like you really enjoyed this book Taryn - you connected with Ruby and her need to be an individual.

    3. Well, since Nero is such an out-of-the-box thinker, I think he kind of distracts Ruby from her grief about her grandmother with outrageous ideas. Also, the search for information about the shape of a donut helps to take her mind off of things.
