  2. I chose this book because it had a really good hook on the first page and it talks about minorities. I have read other books in the past that talk about minorities and they were some of my favorite.

  9. His life is threatened, he could be killed any day. What would you feel like if that happened to you?

  10. The book Golden Boy is a slow moving with a little action every chapter. I like fast moving books, but this is a exception. If others are like this I think that they will like it.
The book is about a boy named Habo is white. Not like his family who are creamy brown color skin. Since he is different he is called zeruzeru in his language means zero-zero or nothing. He is Albino and people hunt him for his arms, legs and hair...

  11. My question is how do you think he will get away and survive?

  12. My old comment got intercepted by a surprise update

In the book 'Golden Boy' Habo is Albino, and Albino libs are valuable in Mwanza. There are people who search and kill the Albino people. So in the book Habo has to hide behind a bag of corn, every time that a person comes to there aunties house, because if they find out who he is they will kill him.
But someone already knows about him. His name is (?). I think that he will tell the people who want to kill Habo.

  17. Habo has met a old man and tried to steal from him so the old man smacked him. But later he has gotten a job and got to stay with the old man.

Will he meet Alasiri? If he does will he survive?

  18. Habo survives barely but he does. Habo finds Asu on a street corner.

  19. Habo has found a blind old man and is staying with him. Since he is blind he does not know that Habo is albino. He had a family member that came over named Davu. Who is not blind. So Davu is not blind so she could tell Kweli that Habo is albino.

  20. I was surprised when Kweli let Habo stay with him even though Habo is albino. One day Habo went to the store with Kweli and the tourists swarmed him, and that made Kweli sell more statues.DNF

  21. Habo talks with his sister about everything that had happened to them. Habo calls his family. END of BOOK

  22. Habo has got home from the market and he finds Alasiri talking with Kweli about something illegal that Kweli does not want to do. Is it to sell Habo? Or buy something from him?

  23. How do you feel about the way Habo's brother and mother treat him?

  24. Why does the book end with Habo's phone call to Kito?

    1. It ends like this because Habos family did not know where he was.

    2. Where was Habo? Why didn't his family know where he was?

    3. It ends like that because Habos family did not know where he is. He took a train and his family did not know which one or when he got on.

    4. His brother and mother were not very kind, in fact they really mistreated Habo. Do you think the family cared that they did not know where he was?

    5. I think it ends like this because Habo has made a promise to Kito, saying he would call when he was settled well in Dar Es Salaam. Up until then he had thought it was an impossible promise, but I think the ending was a sign that he was totally settled down, and had a group of friends to help him out.

  25. Habo has gone to the police about Alarsiri. They don't really care about Habo, only about the illegal ivory Alasiri has taken from a elephant, that he killed.

  26. Habo has gone to the police and in order to put Alarsiri in jail, they would have to see him WITH the ivory in order to arrest him. So Habo has set up a trap to catch him.

  27. I'm reading Golden Boy a book about an albino, thirteen year old in Africa. So far in the book Habo's family has been evicted from their home and so they are forced to travel to the city. His aunt lives in the city. Habo and his family are going to go live with his aunt.

  31. I am at the part in this book where they are on the bus to Mwanza but they are only going halfway because they cannot pay full price. Habo has seen some white tourists and realized that he is not like them, but even more white. While he's on the bus some boys outside start teasing him for his color, and Asu tries to stick up for him, which only draws the attention of everyone on the bus.

  32. Habo is being chased by a luck hunter in search of albino legs. He's pretty sure he will be safe in Dar Es Salaam. Unfortunately, though, he doesn't have a place to stay, so he is sort of just walking around aimlessly at the moment.

  33. I chose this book because I am interested in African hunting tactics, and hoping that learn some about that. Also a lot of people say that is a great book. I hope that I will pronounce the names right!

  34. I find it wrong that most of family rejects him because he is albino. I hope his family won't get caught disguising themselves as Maasia. I have an inkling that the tourist guy is going to show up later in the story.

  35. I'm at the part where Habo and his family are camping out with Alarsiri. Alisiri is elephant poacher. I had bad feeling about Alarsiri from the beginning so i'm not entirely surprised about his black market business.
