  2. The reason why i chose this book is because it seems really good because the first two sentences grabbed my attention. My favorite character is Sarah Nelson. Sarah is 12 years old and she has a very crazy family. If you read just the first page you will understand.

  5. The beginning of the book really hooked me when I learned about Sarah's life. The first page it explains that Sarah's life really is crazy when Sarah says that her father is an alcoholic and her mother tried to drown her when she was two. You can clearly see that this is crazy and I completely 100% with out a doubt recommend this book to you. If you read this book tell me what your favorite part of this book was.

  6. This book grabbed my attention because at the beginning of the story it tells how Sarah's mom tried to drown her and her dad is an alcoholic. I though that the book started with the saddest part of the story.
I figured out that Sara lived in Texas because I read the blurb on the front cover. A blurb is a summary of the whole book and is either found in the front book flap or on the back cover.

  7. Its Sarah's birthday and her gram is trying to fix things by giving her a purple bag with a bra in it. Her dad is mad at her gram because her father dosen't think that Sarah needs a bra.
Sarah is hiding something from her father and her father is finding clues like notes and more gifts from her gram that her father dose not approve of.Sarah is trying to keep it a sercret from her father and her gram. She is trying to get more clues about her life and her mom and dad.

  8. What I read last night was that Sarah is going to have a girl day with Charlotte and they are going to paint each others nails, go to the movies and eat popcorn and candy. Another reason why I like this book is because whenever she tells some big or small words that are confusing, she would explain what they mean. The author of Sure Signs of Crazy is Karen Harrington.

  10. Over the weekend I read that Charlotte has a little brother named Finn and Sarah just met him. Finn is like a computer and knows a lot of big words, a word that Sarah gave Finn was forever. Finn said," Forever, Everlasting. Eternal. Evermore. As in Charlotte was on the phone forever.

  11. Last night I read that Sarah is afraid to go to seventh grade because she has to do a family tree project and she does not want people to know about her past. When I keep on reading I cant wait until I get to read about in seventh grade. I recommend this book to everyone and whoever wants to read it.

  12. Sarah is having I hard time right know because of her going to the 7th grade and on top of all of the she is lieing. Her dad is very upset right know, i don't know why because i have not gotten to that part but i am very happy to almost be there.

  13. Sarah has her first crush. Finn. Sarah also thinks that she will have the best summer, and I cant wait to see how her summer and how seventh grade will be. In the page I am reading right now it she says that is embarrassed of how she acted in front of Finn. One of my questions for this book is the cover. The cover has a drawn bird with a letter in the birds mouth. I cant wait to read the rest of this book. If you read this book, please tell me how you think Sarah's summer will go.

  14. One of my favorite person in the book is Charlotte and Fin dose not hold back or worry about what he is going to say, he is really funny too. Charlotte is cool and pretty chill but some parts shes really crazy and to worried about other people like Sarah especially after Sarah told Charlotte about all of the bad things she has done. In the book it seams like Charlotte is running the show, also she like Sarah's best friend. Not actually but in the book it kind of looks like that, coming from a reader. But maybe as I read more I might find out.

  15. Sarah has her first crush. Its Finn. She goes to her fake diary and rights about how she wants to be in a spelling bee. Then she goes to her real diary and rights that she likes Fin and how she wants to have her first kiss.......she is hoping that her dad dose not find her real diary that he will find her fake diary and not be sispishes on whats in her real diary. I think that her dad does not know about the real diary but he knows something is up.

I like how it gives one short story then another. I think it is cool. I think it is cool because it uses words that help me learn. This book is almost like a dictionary.

  18. I think this book is really good. I think it is because it shares very detailed actions. It helps me understand better. It is very interesting. I hope if you read it you will love it. I sure do.

  19. Why does Sarah think “love” is a trouble word?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sarah has a few trouble words that she know, but one I think that stands out to me more would be "love". This word stands out to me because saying a trouble word like love my guess is that it just makes that person feel weird or awkward which can put you in a awkward situation like I said before. I think Sarah thinks the same way I do because she mentions in the book that a trouble word will change the face of the person you say it to.

  20. This book is about secrets. How does Sarah feel when Finn reveals his secret (p. 190 - maybe different on the Kindle)?
What secrets does Sarah keep from her father? When is it all right to tell your secret?

    1. I really don't know what her main secrets are but I definitely know that shes keeping something from her father. And I am definitely wondering when she is going to tell her father.

    2. When Finn reveals his secret, Sarah said "This is the kind of information you want to run and be alone with." So she felt like she wanted to run away and be alone.

  21. Sarah makes a new friend in Mrs. Dupree. How does this friendship help Sarah?

    1. I think it helped Sarah learn that it is sad to lose a loved on, but it makes you stronger.

    2. Sarah really bonded with Mrs. Dupree over the fact that they'd both lost a loved one. I think she also felt like Mrs. Dupree was the mother she never had (or only had briefly).

  22. What did Sarah learn from her relationship with Finn?

  23. Sarah's dad asks Sarah about if her mom wrote her a letter this year for her birthday. Although he already knew because he saw the envelope on her dresser he still asked. Sarah knew he knew too. But she still answered. "She got me one with a dog. She wants to know about my new life."

  24. I had read the first 10 pages of this book and it was very detailed. I forgot all about this book so I went on to another one, hoping to get back to this book soon!

  25. The characters in the book are very intriguing like Sarah Nelson she has gone through some tough times like when she was two years old when her mother tried to drown her I thought that was really sad,but I think maybe her mother has gone through some very rough things which I could understand that issue with my mother its hard to see what my mother is going through, but i'm staying strong and so is she. The reason I am reading this book "Sure Signs of Crazy" is that it has very good details, the characters are great, and in the beginning it puts in a flashback story type theme that you would see in a movie or in your head.

  26. In chapter two i remember when Sarah was just only two and her mother tried to drown her in the sink. That reminds me of a movie type documentary of a family on a cruise ship and they had a little daughter. I think she was about four or five years old and they were all on the deck, but her mom and dad had to quickly get some things they forgot in there room. So they left their daughter unsupervised. Then a man saw the little girl, pick her up and threw her over bored, but you would think she new how to swim, but she didn't know.So she drowned and died. Her parents have been looking for her and saw her floating up on the surface dead.

  27. Sarah gets a new crush. His name is Finn. He is nineteen and in college. I tried to picture him in my mind. I pictured him about a five foot ten or so. Sarah also feels like charlotte is throwing her out the window. She has a new boyfriend named Christopher. Who she's always around.

  28. While Sarahs friends obsess over Harry Potter, Sarah spends a lot of her time writing about Atticus Finch. Sarah worships Atticus Finch. Sarah collects confusing words in her diary; her best friend is a plant, and as you know, her mother left her when she was two.

  29. Sarah has a hard time trying to get out information from her father he does for example when hes going to the store he doesn't say what hes gonna get. When Sarah tries she only gets tiny bits of pieces of info. This reminds me of my mother. When ever something happens and I ask she only gives out tiny info which makes me nervous, but I think she does it because she try's her hardest to protect me which I can understand.

  30. Sarah is starting to get mad. She is mad at her dad for laughing at her when she put mascara on wrong. She is also mad at her mom. She is mad at her mom because she doesn't have her to do the family tree project with and that she doesn't have her. She is so mad she writes a partially mean letter to Atticus Finch. Her character she has to write to.

  31. I really love this book, and the reason it interest me because it involves crazy things. When you come to around page 50, I would keep reading after page 50. When you reach page 50 it leaves you around a cliff hanger. I would recommend this book for anyone. Have fun reading this book.

  32. I think Sarah wants to learn more about charolet and what happened on the porch. She also might feel embarrest of the way she sometimes acts in front of Finn. I think they are meant to be but if not will her goal complete?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Dark. Nothing but dark. Sarah stares into the sky. She over here's charolett and her boyfriend talking on the porch. She pretends she is a detective but she can't figure out what they are talking about. All she knows is Charolett starts crying. Finn is also on the portcullis at this point. When charolett goes inside Sarah calls Finn over. Sarah's dad starts yelling for her. Sarah pulled a prank on him. Dark. They stare at the dark.

  35. Sarah's dad gives her the silent treatment. Sarah knows what she did to deserve it. Sarah's dad avoids Sarah for the rest of the morning. While Sarah thinks about her dad she also thinks about when she was seven. When she was seven Sarah's mom and dad got divorced. Her mom took origami lessons back then and Sarah took one of her origami pieces to remember her mom by. She keeps it in her "important things" box.

  36. Its Sarah's birthday, but she wants to go to the mall with friends so she asks her dad to a surprise he says yes,but sits back down and drinks his beer and watches the game.

  37. This book is amazing, but complicated. So far Sarah is tiring to eze her way through Finn and Charolet. She wants to know what happended on the porch and why she heard yelling. Was it bad?

  38. Sarah, Finn and Charlett go to a flea market. They sell some old books they found in mr.s Duprees house. While Charlett is looking at all the clothes Sarah and Finn look at weird hats. Thay buy three and decide they would wear them to a friend's funarel

  39. Sarah accidently tells Finn she loves him. Sarah and her dad visit Simon's grave. But soon after the news ambushes them. They go to Sarah's grandma's house. Sarah completely explodes at her dad. She yells at him and tells him what he's been doing wrong Sarah's whole life.

  42. Sarah and her dad are thinking about going to mexico to see her mom. They have gotton in touch but what is going to happen if she does go?

  43. Sarah's father is passed out on the couch in a stance that tells you he has a hang over. Sarah is very disapointed that her father didn't bring her to the mall, but it's not her fault that her father is a alchoholic.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sarah's father is still hanged over and asleep on the couch. Two weeks ago Sarah's father wouldn't allow her to go with Lisa to see a r rated movie. He wanted to know Lisa's moms number to tell him about his conserns. I feel so bad for Sarah shes likw a dog on a tight leash that can't go anywhere.

  45. S I just picked up the book and I love it! It is all like "I am going to take $20 and go shopping and he can deal with it later. I think that something will happen when she sees her .

  46. Sarah's father is still passed out on the couch. Sarah didn't know what else to do so she picked up a blanket covered up her dad and watched tv.

  47. I think that Sarah will become friends with Fen. Also maybe even date at the end of the book. I wonder why the book has a bird on the cover with a envelope?

  48. In sure signs of crazy I had a few questions about the book. Like when did there mother kill her brother? And why did she just "fill up the tub(or sink I can't remember) and drown her brother? I will read soon and find out.
