I think that Nate is a strong character that wants nothing more than to be on Broadway. One thing that really surprised me is when Nate meets his aunt that he hasn't seen since he was a babe. I really liked the part when Nate tried to pull of being 21 when he seems like my age. What was one of your favorite parts?
I think that Nate is a strong character that wants nothing more than to be on Broadway. One thing that was surprising to me was when Nate ran into his aunt that he hasn't seen in a really long time. I also really liked the part when he tried to pass for being 21, when people don't believe him when he says he's 13.
I really liked the part when Nate's aunt brings him to a clothing store to get him cloths but she has no idea how to dress him. I thought that was kind of funny. What was one part that you think was funny?
I found it surprising how little the kids had to do to make it through the first round of the initiation process. What do you think was surprising in the story?
I really liked how Nate's aunt let him stay at tryouts even though she new that they needed to leave. I also liked that Nate was begging and she kept saying no, then a kid came through the elavater getting ready to do the same thing as Nate, then his aunt said yes.
I thought it was really weird how Nate's aunt was so anxious to get him on the bus, even when she doesn't get along with Nate's mom, so why would it matter?
Some characters that I think are really funny are Mark and Marc. This is mostly because they seem kind of dumb, like when they get introduced they just look up from their phones and its just pretty funny. Who do you think is a funny character.
I was surprised when Calvin just gives Nate 10 bucks to spend on deodorant. I also thought it was funny how he spent it on things other than what he was given the money for.
I was really surprised when Nate stole the coat from the homeless drive. I know that he was cold but that just seems kind of weird for someone like Nate to do. What do you think about Nate stealing a coat?
I was surprised that Nate and his brother were ever close. When Nate was talking about his past I was surprised when he started talking about being close with his brother when he was younger.
I now know that Nate doesn't have a very good sense of direction. I know this because he either needs to ask Libby where to go or he has to ask some random stranger. This has happened a couple of times throughout the story.
Yes I do think it was a good idea to go by himself to New York. I think this because I have a feeling they wouldn't let him go. Although it is very dangerous in New York, I think that he is old enough.
Who are the "they" that wouldn't let him go alone? What do you think about the way that Nate was treated at home? Did you know any of the show tunes mentioned in the book? Will you read "Five, Six, Seven, Eight"?
They are Nate's overprotective parents. At home I think Nate was treated just fine but his parents won't let him go anywhere. As for the show tunes, I recognized a couple of them but not all of them. I definitely recognize E.T and I've heard of Hamlet but the others i'm not sure about. I probably will read Five,Six,Seven,Nate at some point but not until after I read more DCF books.
I really like the way the author has Nate saying something but then saying "that's what I was going to say." For example, on page 197 this is what the conversation has in it. "Oh wow. Mmmm. You like Shirley Temples?" "Only when she's dancing on a staircase," I want to say. I just think it's interesting how the author does that.
When Nate was talking about the dream he had I had a connection. I sometimes have dreams like that too, when you dream about something that had happened earlier in real life but its changed to the way you wish it had happened. Does anyone else have dreams like that?
This book is great. I chose it because I thought looked good. I think it's cool that Nate has to go to New York get into a musical show all in one day then come home. I'm on page fifty so far. I think it's pretty fast moving. Do you think it's fast moving?
This book is amazing! I mean a long lost aunt! I hope Nate makes the audition. I feel like Nate is an amazing character. Also I think the author did a sensational job surprising us when Nate gets called back.
This book is awesome! I find it odd that nobody cared about Nate, but now that he is gone there is a huge commotion. I also find it weird that Libby went through Anthony's underwear drawer then made him flex
I love how this book is very descriptive of how Nate is feeling throughout the story. Aw Shucks seems like a very interesting place. I wonder what dish sells the best. Also I wonder how well known it is. Do you?
I am finding that this book isn't that appealing anymore. It's a great book but I have just lost interest. I hope it turns out all right for Nate. I also hope that other people like to it and the way it's written.
